Real-life photos documenting the first days having your bub has been brought home.
Shooting your Lifestyle Newborn shoot in the comfort of your home allows for parents to have all their familiar resources, making everyone (including baby!) feel more comfortable and relaxed. These images will show the love (and chaos!) of having a new bub in the house. Whether it’s your dog checking in on their new family member or highlighting that beautiful blanket that was handmade by your grandmother. Having your Newborn shoot in your home will truly reflect you and your family.
There are a few things you can do prior to your newborn shoot to prepare your home without the overwhelm. The first few days with bub at home, I know you don’t have the time or energy for a full overhaul of your home. And there's no need! These tips will go a long way.
This does not mean your home needs to be pristine. I mean, you live there! Just focus on de-cluttering your home, which means just tidying up a bit and basically putting stuff in the room where it belongs and toss the rest in a closet until after the shoot. Think about colourful water bottles, extra burb clothes and dog toys for example.
Walkthrough your house around the time that your shoot is scheduled for, which rooms have the best light at that time? Open your curtains and blinds - let the natural light in. Go ahead and turn off ALL the lights and lamps in the rooms as well. It might seem dark but trust me, natural light is the best and I will make that work.
Think about adding a small bunch of fresh flowers, some indoor plants in the room or something a little personal to the space.
