Hello,

It's wonderful to meet you. My name is Tracey. I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt and dog-mom. I'd love to tell you a little bit more about myself.

I was born and raised in South Africa, where I spent most of my childhood swimming laps. My days were filled with school, sport and weekends around a swimming pool competing in various swimming galas. And I loved it! My sport taught me dedication and perseverance while forging life long friendships based on very early mornings and freezing cold water. It was while travelling the country to various competitions that I developed (see what I did there?) my interest in photography. My trusty point-and-shoot was never far away.

I was about 22 years old when I hang up my goggles and started focusing on my studies at university. I had taken a gap yeat after school and had enrolled in a degree in law. This is where I met my amazing husband, Eugene, through some mutual friends. You'll see a lot of him on my social media pages. He is my best friend and greatest supporter. He is also the one who keeps me fit and active, as he is incapable of sitting still. I on the other hand, have the amazing ability to watch three seasons of a series on Netflix in one sitting (or all 8 Harry Potter movies!).

Fast forward a couple of years, and we were packing our bags for an adventure in Australia. We have in Perth, Western Australia for just under 9 years now and could not be happier. My brother and parents have also settled in Perth and I get to enjoy spending time with my gorgeous niece and nephew. Ive already bought my niece her first camera. She is 3 years old and the camera is made of wood, but it still counts right?

Eugene and I will be married for 9 years in October and have had many wonderful adventures together. We both have a serious case of the travel bug, however sometime choosing our next destination can be tricky. I absolutely love history, architecture and squeezing in as much sight seeing as humanly possible in 24 hours, while Eugene is more the "toes in the sand sipping on a cocktail" type of person. We have been fortunate to have travelled extensively throughout Europe (YAY for me!!), our most recent trip being Hungary, Prague and Germany. We have also had some amazing trips to Indonesia and Thailand. But we both agree that our favourite destination so far has been Ireland.

I mentioned earlier, I am the proud dog mom of two wonderful fur balls, Pippa and Benji. You'll be seeing a lot of these two mischief makers on my social media pages as well. Much to Pippa's horror and Benji's delight (he's my little poser), I tend to photograph these two a lot.

I am also a huge Rugby Union fan and supporter of the Western Force in Australia and the Blue Bulls in South Africa. I vividly remember the 1995 Rugby World Cup hosted by South Africa , which is when my love for the sport was kindled. I am still trying to wrap my head around AFL and would be grateful for some education on the topic. That being said, I have chosen a team to support, the Fremantle Dockers. :)

It was on my 30th birthday that Eugene bought me my first DSLR camera and a photography 101 course. Little did he know that he was opening a can of worms. Now I get to do what I love, which is create emotive, journalistic style images for you to cherish forever. Images that will take you back to moments in time, otherwise lost. To allow you to relive and share these moments with loved ones.

Whether it's your wedding day, your baby bump or photos documenting the growth of your family every year, I am honoured to be included in these treasured parts of your life. And I hope to be able to walk along side you and your family on our own unique journey.

Now that you've gotten to know me a bit more, leave me a comment, ask me a question or tell me a little about yourself and what drives you.

Keep an eye open for my next blog, which will give you some insight in what you can expect to experience and receive when you book a session with me.

This is me, Tracey O Photography, Wedding and Lifestyle photographer based in Perth, Western Australia.
